Classes and Workshops, 2019-20

Learning astrology can be a life-changing experience. Not only does it involve discovering a new symbolic language but, being a whole cosmology in itself, it will profoundly shift the way you see life - inwardly and outwardly. There’s also the important benefit that, as learning will mostly be centred on your own horoscope, you gain a deeper understanding of who you are and how you tick.

I offer several teaching options, from short or longer courses those completely new to the craft, to on-going classes, tutorials and workshops for more intermediate and advanced students.

My teaching background involves lecturing at the Centre for Psychological Astrology in London (2006-7), 10 years as Diploma tutor for the international distance learning Mayo School of Astrology, and extensive private teaching over the past 15 years in the UK and New Zealand. I have also taught astrology in schools to year 8 children (age 13-14) and held classes for youth over the past 5 years.

Universal Awakenings: a seven week introduction to astrology

By popular demand I will be running another 7-week course to introduce complete beginners to the basic building blocks of astrology. This is done through an exploration of the most important themes of our daily lives, including love and partnership; career, vocation, and finances; family and community; and forecasting future trends. The teaching draws from your own birth chart, so you will be learning a new skill at the same time as deepening self-awareness.  The course will be taught in Kapiti on Thursdays, starting 31st October 2019, 9:30 - 11:30am in Paekakariki. Cost: $195 ($180 if booked before 17th October)

Foundation Course 2020 - a year-long introduction to astrology

For those with a serious interest in learning this amazing craft, this is a full-year introduction to the fundamentals of astrology. You will come away from it with the knowledge and skills to read a horoscope; a deeper sense of who you are and how you tick: your strengths, patterns and challenges; what you might be here for, along with a whole new perspective on and understanding of life. This is such a great path towards self-knowledge, and with the once-in-20-year conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn taking place later this year, an exciting time to learn astrology. Likely to be held on Wednesday evenings in Kapiti, over the four school terms, starting 19th February 2020. Cost: $280 per 7-week term.

Horary Workshops - on-going

A bi-monthly series of 3-hour Saturday workshop introducing and exploring Horary Astrology - the art of answering specific and often practical questions with a star map drawn for the moment the question is posed. Workshops are held in Raumati South, Kapiti Coast, the next one scheduled for the 19th October, 10-1pm. There’s more information on my ‘Events’ page.

Horary Tutorials - on-going

Interspersing the above Saturday workshops I am holding 1.5-hour on-line tutorials. These provide a chance to review theory, share & workshop charts, and refine horary skills. Taking place on Zoom, these are open to all, whether or not you come to the attendance workshops. The next on-line tutorial will be on 21st November, 7-8:30pm NZST. $NZ25 Click to book in.

Chart Calculation

Learn to calculate and draw up a horoscope all by yourself over two 3-hour workshops. You will learn to use the ephemerides, house cusp and planetary tables, and do many of the calculations, before drawing up a clear and beautiful chart. In pre-computer times this was an essential skill for all astrologers, now a craft sadly being lost - and to the detriment of our astrology. This course is open to all - beginners and seasoned astrologers. It’s taught over a weekend, 10-1pm, on the 23rd and 24th November 2019, in Kapiti. The cost is $125 for both days.

I came to your Astrology class with little to no understanding, but with an enthusiastic attitude and an open mind. To my greatest joy you have a teaching skill that could keep me inspired to learn more. Each session was full of knowledge and the extent of your understanding and gift of communicating was thrilling. You hold such integrity with you role as an Astrology teacher, and offer your students great on-going support and encouragement. You have helped me open the door to my own path as an Astrologer, you helped me to believe in myself. I am very thankful to have had you as a well respected and professional teacher that could offer so much and with such skill.
