The Burning of the Goetheanum - an astrological exploration

  • The Anthroposophical Society 19 Bristol Square Lower Hutt, Wellington, 5010 New Zealand (map)

The burning of the first Goetheanum remains a seminal moment in the history and life of Anthroposophy. This talk will investigate the event along with its broader context and implications through the lens of astrology, with a particular focus on Pluto as an image of the adversary. Included will be the star charts of the building’s foundation stone, the fire itself, and key individuals and initiatives linked with it: Rudolf Steiner, Marie Steiner-Sivers, Jospeh Englert and Max Kully, the Anthroposophical Society, & the Christian Community.

No knowledge of astrology is presumed, but astrological symbolism will be discussed.
